My Lesson Today (2 Corinthians 5:16-17 & 1 Corinthians 1:26-29)
As I read the story of David and Saul in the Bible today, I ended up back to 2 Corinthians 5:16, especially the first part “Therefore, from now on, we consider NO ONE according to the flesh…”
To consider is defined as “to think carefully about, before making a decision.”
Before I make a decision about someone, I need to THINK CAREFULLY about them, and think through the eyes of God. This is especially required for those people we have “blacklisted” as immature or annoying… because of their weaknesses, failures, shortcomings, mistakes, position or lack thereof.
We have to make a conscious effort to see them as God sees them: His righteousness, His beloved, Sons/Daughters and heirs…through the finished work of Christ.
Sooo, to be honest, I have a list of about 5 people 🙂 that I MUST deliberately speak life over starting today, and commit my thoughts about them to God. Those that “fall short” in the flesh. I must submit my pride and see them as God sees me beyond my failures. Through the lenses of God’s redemption and grace.
Do you have your list? Make a deliberate decision to speak life over them and think about them through God’s lenses. You will quickly realize that they look exactly like you through God’s lenses.”
Have a great week
1 Corinthians 1:26-29
26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.
