My Lesson for Today (Joshua 1:7)
Some of the people we admire the most are those who seem to first of all KNOW who they are, and then are consistent in BEING that person they are. They are not pressured to conform and fit in. Some times we dislike them because they expose our weaknesses, but deep down, we strongly admire them.
It takes courage to BE yourself completely and consistently, especially if you are different from the many value systems around you.
God tells Joshua to BE STRONG and VERY courageous that He may be able to DO everything God has asked him to, and not to turn from it to the left or to the right so that he (Joshua) may be successful at everything he does.
You know what? It really takes courage to live by the word of God in a world where the principles of the kingdom of God and those of the world are literally worlds apart. I promise you that you will stand out. You will be “weird”, you will be called names like “holier than thou”, and you will be uncomfortable at first, but when the results start coming through, you will draw many to ask what the secret is, and you can give them Jesus.
This week, be courageous to be and do according to God’s word. Why? So that you may PROSPER wherever you go. I think that’s reason enough. Remember to do it ALL IN LOVE.
Have a great week courageous ones!
7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.
