(My Meditation: 1Corinthians 4:1-2,7)
A steward is defined as someone managing something of value on behalf of another.
Now, from the story of the talents in the Bible( Matt 25), God actually expects the steward to increase what has been left in his care
You and I are stewards of the life of God. He created us and released us to reign on His behalf in this world. (Rom5:17). The point of salvation is INHERITANCE. It’s not an “individual affair”. Your home awaits. Your workplace awaits. Your relationships await... Wherever God has PLACED you right now, He expects it to have the “character” of His Kingdom because you are there. And it is REQUIRED of stewards, that we be found FAITHFUL: faithfulness is multiplying what God has given us. But first, we must KNOW what God has given us.
The Apostle Paul asks: “What do you have that you did NOT receive?” (1Cor 4:7).
Take a moment today and think about what things God has put in your stewardship right now, and how you can release His life there today and everyday. Not by power or might: BECAUSE YOU ARE A SON, YOU REIGN.
1 Corinthians 4:1-2
Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. MOREOVER IT IS REQUIRED OF STEWARDS THAT ONE BE FOUND FAITHFUL. (NKJV-Emphasis mine)
