Hold Your Peace:
My meditation (Exodus 14:13-14)
Right before the Israelites cross the red sea, the Egyptians are in hot pursuit of them, So, naturally, they are AFRAID and panicking. Look what God says to them through Moses:
13 Moses told the people, Fear not; stand still (firm, confident, undismayed) and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today. For the Egyptians you have seen today you shall never see again.
14 THE LORD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU, AND YOU SHALL HOLD YOUR PEACE, AND REMAIN AT REST. (Amplified – Emphasis Mine)
God calls us as His children over and over to a position of peace and rest. Notice that He says in this scripture that HE (God) will fight for us, and ours it to HOLD our PEACE and REMAIN at rest.
Often times, we take on the position of fighting (which is God’s), and then ask God to come and hold our peace (Which is our role). That’s not right!
When we switch, we lose.
He has given us a covenant of peace. But we have to hold on to it, and remain in it by choice and deliberate decision. My role is to hold my peace, His it to fight.
Today, regardless of what “Egyptians” you are facing, REFUSE to make decisions out of fear, panic, anger or any other thing that is not peace. When you are at peace, you are powerful. Hold on to your peace and remain at rest, and allow God the opportunity to fight for you.
You are powerful when you are in your position. Stay in the position of PEACE and REST.
