(My meditation: 1 Chronicles 11:9)
Today as I read the story of David in 1 Chronicles, I was especially pointed to where David drew his strength; from the TRUTH and awareness that God was with him.
1 Chronicles 11:9 says “So David went on and became great, and the LORD of hosts was with him.”
And as we read on (14:8-17), David made no move without first asking if God approved, and if God would be with him. As long as God responded in the affirmative, even before the war, David declared that they were victorious in advance. He KNEW that failure was not an option as long as God was on board. His source of confidence was God’s presence.
This is not unique to David. All the great giants of faith in the Bible had one source of strength: God’s presence. That’s what made the difference.
You and I are in a more enviable position than David: we carry God in us EVERYWHERE. He is in us, with us and upon us. We can’t escape Him. The difference is, ARE WE TRULY AWARE OF HIM? Do we know what we have? Do we make use of Him, or ignore Him until we have no other options left?
Today, I challenge you to BE AWARE that God is with you. Make use of Him. Talk to Him. Your confidence levels will be unshaken when they are drawn from a constant, consistent, victorious God.
If God is for us, WHO can be against us?
God is our refuge and strength,
A VERY PRESENT HELP in time of trouble. (NKJV – Emphasis Mine)
Have a great week!
