My Lesson For The Day… (Proverbs 1:32-33)
The dictionary defines COMPLACENCY as “A feeling of contentment or self-satisfaction, especially when coupled with an unawareness of danger”
Complacency in my opinion is what happens to most of us, when we accumulate knowledge and do NOT put it to action. We get a false sense of contentment and self satisfaction, not realizing that danger is still looming as long as we do not practice what we know.
For example, we all want to get rich, yet if we look intently at our lives, there is very little evidence of desire or progress; from the company we keep,to our savings or lack of them, to our financial plan, financial knowledge… where is the evidence in our lives for the things we say we want to accomplish?
The Message Bible says “complacency is murder“.
The only thing you truly possess is what you have experienced, not what you are simply aware of. #Bee3Thoughts
In what area of your life have you become complacent? Take action on God’s word and wisdom and you will dwell safely with no fear of evil.
Have a great week!
32For the turning away of the simple will slay them,
And the complacency of fools will destroy them;
33 But whoever listens to me will dwell safely,
And will be secure, without fear of evil.”
